Where to Eat

There are a number of places to eat within a few miles of Stick Cottage. Anglesey is still not very good at promoting itself when it comes to food but having said that, there are some nice places to spend a lunchtime or evening.

Below are a small selection of some of our favourites. Please feel free to ask Catherine and Paul for more information when you arrive.
Pubs and places to eat
Y Groeslon, Brynsiencyn

Royal Oak, Malltraeth (basic pub menu but also sometimes sea food cooked to order in season, 01248 840015)

The Joiners, Malltraeth

The Bridge Inn (Tafarn y Bont), Menai Bridge (beams and charm, not cheap food but good service and ambiance)

The Straits, Menai Bridge (trendy restaurant - for Anglesey, anyway; reasonably priced 2 course set menu on most nights)

Auckland Arms, Menai Bridge ('We recommend the Auckland Arms in Menai Bridge for real cider and good value meals - the pub is basic but has a lovely garden' - review from one of our visitors)

Anglesey Arms, Menai Bridge (friendly, straightforward pub with plenty of dining area)

Victoria Hotel, Menai Bridge (good for lunches in their conservatory, overlooking the Straits; phone to book table, 01248 712309)

Four Crosses Inn, Menai Bridge (at top of village, beyond Ysgol David Hughes, on Pentraeth roundabout)

Bull Hotel, Beaumaris (expensive 'formal' restaurant upstairs and friendly Brasserie downstairs

Liverpool Arms Hotel, Beaumaris (busy, efficient, olde worlde style pub, no booking but usually get seats fairly promptly)

Ship Inn, Red Wharf Bay (olde worlde pub with real ales and good food; beautiful setting on shoreline at Red Wharf Bay, near Pentraeth)

Tap and Spile Pub, Bangor (olde worlde, very friendly, excellent guest real ales, very cheap, tasty food but finish serving food at 7.45pm) - take a walk out on Bangor Pier if you're there during the day

Numerous other pubs and restaurants on Anglesey, too many to mention
