Weather not great but very relaxing to stay in.We still had some good walks and visits. Lovely cottage, great eggs. Sally-Anne, Arif and Hannah, Cheshire (October 2011) Another lovely stay in 'Stick Cottage'. Made to feel very welcome and the cottage felt like being at home - excellent. Frank, Norfolk (October 2011) You have got it just right - warm and friendly without being intrusive. Good location, pleasant outlook from all windows and a clean, crisp cottage with a lovely atmosphere. Many thanks for everything. Crispin and Charlotte, Orkney (September 2011) A most enjoyable first visit to Anglesey. We definitely plan to return at some point ~ so much left to explore. Highlights include South Stack's Choughs, Llanddwyn Island and Newborough Forest walks, Plas Newydd and the Copper Mountain. The heritage centre at Aberffraw is worth a visit. Too many excellent tea rooms and cafes to list, but Pier House at Beaumaris and the one opposite the car park at Bull bay jump out. Had an excellent meal at the Marram Grass at White Lodge camp site - shame it is open only weekend evenings this time of year. Thank you Paul & Catherine for providing such a cosy cottage ~ so welcoming to return to after a busy day out. One of the best self-catering lets for 2 people we have experienced. It really felt like a home from home when we came back to it. Heather and Terence, Sheffield (September 2011) We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in this very comfortable and homely cottage. An excellent website and information in the cottage with extra help from Catherine and Paul. Eating out at all the recommended pubs had not been as expensive as Gloucestershire and we have had a very relaxing holiday, revisiting places from 50 years ago! We hope to come back and explore some more. Bernice and Tony, Gloucestershire (September 2011) Wonderful weekend had by all in your lovely "Stick Cottage". Everything we needed, very comfortable and cosy. Had lots of fun kayaking, eating, drinking and playing cards. A***** India (aged 12) August 2011. We,ve had a lovely , relaxing stay at Stick Cottage. A great location for sightseeing and walking, and a cosy comfortable base to return to at the end of each day. Even the weather was on our side (most of the time). So much of the island that we still haven,t seen, we may have to come back again. Kate and Jim, Chelmsford (August 2011) We had a really lovely stay at Stick Cottage. The house is very well organised and comfortable. The storage for bikes and kayaks was also a big plus, and we were able to explore a number of beautiful beaches on the island. We especially enjoyed a paddle from Sea Zoo to Britannia Bridge and a majestic one around Llanddwyn Island, where we were surrounded by dolphins jumping out of the water and dancing all over the bay. Thanks to Catherine and Paul, very helpful, especially with their competent advice on tides and winds - needed for a good paddle in the Straits. Nicoletta and Enrico, Manchester (August 2011) We have been so happy here and consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a perfect cottage. I will gladly recommend Stick Cottage to others. Jane, Thomas and Oliver, Wiltshire (July/August 2011) We've had a very enjoyable stay in this comfortable home from home which we only booked a week before we came - thanks to your very good website. It's a pity that the weather hasn't been on our side - good for kayaking I think! - thanks for keeping the heating on even in July. This is such a beautiful part of the world that we'd have liked to have visited the beaches. We recommend the Auckland Arms in Menai Bridge for real cider and good value meals - the pub is basic but has a lovely garden. We've enjoyed having the chickens around and their eggs. Will definitely recommend Stick Cottage. Phil and Jane, Leeds (July 2011) Lovely, relaxing stay in this cosy, comfortable cottage. Frank loved all the kayaking paraphernalia; especially the DVDs. The cottage is ideally placed for all our hobbies and we will definitely be back. Thank you for making use feel so welcome. Frank and Sally, Norwich (May 2011) We had a very relaxing time in the cottage. Many thanks for your warm hospitality and delicious eggs from the chickens, and for decorating the place for Christmas. We had a very good time, and you have done a very good job on Stick Cottage. Sue and Yannis, Milton Keynes (December 2010 / January 2011) We all have had a fantastic time here. Loved the beach. Stick Cottage is very well positioned. Weather to our surprise was great and we had everything we needed. Feeling all relaxed, will get on the road towards Manchester now but will be definitely back. Thank you. Lucia, Jose and Andrej, Manchester (October 2010) Excellent location, accommodation and owners. Arrived last Friday with a damaged trailer and Paul immediately set about assisting in its repair. I have been windsurfing on Anglesey for the past 30 years and Stick Cottage beats all previous accommodation. After a day out in the elements, it provides the perfect place to eat, relax and plan the next day's activities. Thanks for the help. Wesley, Manchester (October 2010) Gosh! What a lovely time we have had here at Stick Cottage. Thank you, Paul, for inviting us to paddle with you on Day 1 and then pointing us in the right direction for the rest of our stay. Your local knowledge, endless weather forecasts and supply of tide timetables was a great help. We had 4 days of super paddles. Stick Cottage was cosy, warm and clean. Just what we needed to 'ice the cake' of a great week. Mair and Billy, Scotland (October 2010) We have really enjoyed our stay at Stick Cottage. Thanks to Catherine and Paul for the little extras on our arrival, such as the flowers, eggs and jug of milk. All were much appreciated. We enjoyed Newborough Warren and Llanddwyn beaches in particular but all the beach areas are outstanding. A place not to be missed is Beaumaris. It has a real holiday feel about it. One day was blustery but we have been lucky with the weather. Our choice of accommodation was excellent! All good wishes Barry and Christine, Chorley (September 2010) Travelled from Shanghai to Heathrow, via Dubai...yup, a long way to travel. The cottage was always a bolt hole to which to return in the evening, to cook and relax, and away from the noise and other tourists. In this regard 'Sticks' excells. We found it to be immaculately presented and of high quality indeed. Lovely cottage and very relaxing. Tim and Miba, Shanghai (August 2010) Thanks, Catherine and Paul, for making us all feel very welcome. The cottage is so welcoming and all 3 of us felt instanly at home. Complements to the chickens, they produce very tasty eggs and Will (aged 3) is now an expert chicken herder (I hope he hasn't left them too traumatised!). We will definitely want to come back and use this as our 'base' for exploring Anglesey. The location is perfect and the accommodation really comfy. Thanks again Mark, Kirsty and Will, Bradford (August 2010) We had a lovely stay at Stick Cottage. Catherine and Paul were really helpful. The website doesn't really do justice to the cottage, it was only when we came that we found out how cozy and relaxing the cottage was. Centrally located so, getting to the beach, Sea Zoo, Bangor and Snowdonia is fairly easy. I think we will be back real soon. Thank you Abubaker and Juwairiyah, Dewsbury (July 2010) We had a lovely stay, Catherine and Paul very helpful and friendly, cottage cosy and comfortable. Weather was not on our side but at least we had a very pleasant 'home' to hang out in. We will be back, I hope. Anglesey has a lot to offer but I suspect it takes some time to get to know it. Thank you Sarah and Ellie, Doncaster (July 2010) Top |
